RExtract

Welcome to RExtract, the data extraction tool for Flashback on the Atari ST (REminiscence).

Flashback is still copyright Delphine Software, so to play it on your Atari ST you need to copy the files needed from your legally owned original Amiga installation disks and give them ST-friendly 8.3 filenames.

Drop your four Amiga disk images below to put all of the files you need into DATA, MUSIC and UNPACKED folders that you can copy next to FLASHBAK.TOS on your ST's hard disk.

UNPACKED holds copies of the game's packed files with the unpacking already done, which saves the ST seconds every time it loads a scene or a level, and on a 4MB machine part of the wait each time Conrad first enters a room. It's optional: without it the game unpacks them itself, just more slowly.

Music comes as the original Amiga tracks, which an STE or Mega STE plays as they are, and as YM versions converted for any other ST. It plays by default, and you can turn it off under Options on the title menu, or with music=false in RS.CFG.

Everything happens in this browser. Your disk images are never uploaded.
